The Rest That Comes

What has it meant,
to live a life in such torment?
To agonize over what is lost,
has had a pricey cost.

What part of him is in me,
that I cannot set free,
he is gone forever,
I face a new endeavor.

Reclaim that part of me,
so I can let everyone see,
I am no longer bound to this grief,
my new self has found relief.

I will not fear,
that he is not here,
my heart beats like a drum,
as I await the rest that comes…
