As the minutes tick by,
The tears shed subside,
Your voice trails off,
Wings take you above,
The hours continue,
Pushing hope through,
Finding no rest,
A bird with no nest,
And the weeks turn,
The ache in my heart still burns,
A fire sparked on a spring day,
Leaves ashes draped in grey,
The years will keep ringing,
Each year spent grieving,
Comes with a sense of solitude,
Time shall strengthen our fortitude.
