Yet Another Day

Sunlight seeps through the windows,

I reach for you through my bed’s pillows,

could it be that you are here,

could it be that you were sincere,

I rise to the call of the birds,

thoughts of you fail my words,

distance makes it unbearable,

yet my heart remains hopeful,

I spread open the curtains,

to see a thousand fountains,

all remind me of what is lost,

a terrible heart’s cost,

One look could free my thoughts,

yet my heart remains in knots,

the sun sets to another day,

my heart bares the dismay,

of another day’s sun rays.
